Bee’ah, the UAE’s leading integrated and award winning environmental and waste management company will introduce the UAE’s first recyclables reverse-vending machines at the Green Middle East exhibition, set to take place from October 17th to 19th, 2011 at the Expo Centre, in Sharjah.
The initiative comes as part of Bee’ah’s recycling drive to promote a better, cleaner and greener environment for Sharjah and the UAE at large.
This initiative aims to make recycling even more rewarding. Residents will earn points as they recycle more, based on the number of bottles and cans deposited in the machines which will be installed across Sharjah.
“Increasing our community’s participation in recycling is a key objective for us at Bee’ah. We are delighted to be the first to introduce this very new and innovative system, where people are encouraged and rewarded for their good actions which benefit both their environment and the city of Sharjah.” commented Mr. Khaled Al Huraimel, Chief Executive Officer at Bee’ah.
After the exhibition, these reverse vending-machines will be placed in high-footfall locations across the city and are expected to take the incentive further with reward vouchers from participating venues and outlets.
Green Middle East, the leading regional exhibition for the environment industry in the Middle East, is set to be the launching pad for this new technology. With Sharjah being at the forefront of leading positive environmental change in the UAE and the Middle East, Bee’ah is currently working with corporate responsible brands and companies as partners to make recyclables reverse-vending machines yet another success in raising public awareness and driving positive behavioural change amongst residents. Bee’ah, headquartered in the Emirate of Sharjah, is an integrated environmental and waste management company, founded in 2007, through an Emiri decree by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, as a public private partnership (PPP) with the Sharjah City Municipality.
Bee’ah touches and transforms thoughts, attitudes and behaviours in individuals, communities, businesses and cities enabling them to lead positive sustainable growth by providing the infrastructure, tools and support that they require to achieve their environmental goals.
